Welcome to Double Adobe School's Website!
Our annual Christmas Bazaar is this Friday. Students look forward to this fun event. They have the opportunity to shop for their family and friends at discounted prices. Please only send small bills with your child if you would like for them to participate. No checks, please. Friends of Double Adobe School, parents, and area residents usually try to provide discounted goods for children to buy. A portion of the seller's profit is donated to the school to help pay for the Christmas stockings. The stockings are provided for each child on the night of the play. It is a fun festive event!
We will have our annual Christmas Play on Tuesday, December 17th. The play begins at 7:00 p.m. We hope to see you there.
Information for Parents
This is a reminder for all parents and students to please use the crosswalk when entering or leaving the building. We do not want anyone to get hurt, safety first!
We are proud to announce that we have received a "B" grade for our school!
Don't Forget to shop through School Mall
When you shop online you can go through the School Mall website and our school will receive money for any purchases you make. You just have to put in our school name when prompted and then click on the link to go to the site of your shopping. There are many different places such as Target, Kohl's, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and many more. This can be a great resource for our school especially as we begin our holiday shopping season.
In Cases of Bad Weather...
As we enter our winter weather season, we would like to remind you that in cases of bad weather, please check the local radio stations and website for any possible school delays or cancellations. We usually have a 2-hour delay to allow for safe travels on sometimes slick roadways. This would mean if your usual bus pick-up time is at 7:00 a.m. on a delayed start day it would then be moved to a pick up time at 9:00 a.m. Please remember that we are a one school district, which means we may or may not necessarily follow what the other school districts decide in cases of school delays and cancellations.
We will have our annual Gingerbread Decoration on Thursday, December 19th. We like to have lots of candies and a variety of other decorating tools such as ice cream cones for trees and Shredded Wheat for roofs and any other fun ideas. If you could send your donation with your child we would appreciate it.
School Tax Credit
Did you know that you could keep your tax dollars local? Tax credit contributions can go directly to the school you designate. It does not go to the state or a district, instead directly to our school. This contribution costs you nothing extra and reduces your tax bill according to how much you contribute. For example if you donate $400, you can reduce your state tax bill by $400. You can make a donation at any time but it must done by December 31st to apply to the current year. Here is a brochure that will give more information on the credit.
New Attendance Reward Club
On October 21st, the school will begin the Perfect Attendance Reward Club. All students who have a perfect attendance from October 21st to the end of the 2nd quarter will participate in a time of special treats and activities. In order to qualify, your child needs to be in school by 8:30 a.m. and present until 2:45 every day.
School begins promptly at 8:30, children are welcome to enter starting at 8:20. We ask that you try to follow these times as much as possible, not dropping students off too early but also making sure they are on time. Many mornings before school we are getting things ready for the day. However, we are always happy to meet with families before school if that is requested. We also ask for anyone that enters the school to sign-in and check with the receptionist before going into the cafeteria or classrooms.
We are very excited to begin another year with your students and look forward to working together to make this year a great learning experience. If you have any questions please call the school at 364-3041. See you soon!
WeatherBug is Here
Our school recently installed a WeatherBug Camera. We are using the information to learn more about weather. Students and parents alike can find current weather information from a couple of different websites. The first site is:
Renaissance Home Connect
Parents can now access their students reading progress from our Accelerated Reader (AR) program. Now you can access this information outside of school from any computer with an Internet connection. Renaissance Home Connect is fun and easy to use. It allows the teacher, you and the student the ability to share information about your student's progress in Accelerated Reader. Here is the link to log-in. Students AR username and passwords will be sent home this week. This will be a great way to stay involved in your children's reading goals.
A Community Focused on Learning

We provide opportunities to develop responsible, independent and caring students.
